Sun Shines on Team USA in Scotland

In the closest Quaich competition in history, the USA prevailed over Scotland by a score of 10.5 points to 9.5 points. Energized by favorable weather conditions, Team USA overcame an early deficit and rallied to become the first team in Quaich history to win on foreign soil. The matches were still undecided when the final group came to the par 4 18th hole at Kilspindie on the last day of competition. In an epic golf moment, American Captain Chris "Cudman" Van Horne drove the green with his trusty Cleveland Launcher to secure a halve in his singles match with Ross MacCallum; the resulting half-point was enough to ensure that the Quaich would be returning to the USA.

US Wins Quaich! Singles Matches Prove Pivotal

The 2010 Quaich was filled with several exciting matches culminating in a final day of 'mano e mano' singles competition. With the Quaich on the line today, the Wee Mikeys (Penyrebrune and Redford) came through for Scotland with close 1 UP victories in their respective singles matches. In an upset, Stephen "Web" Webster brought home a point for the USA with stunning victory over Ian "Big Man" MacCallum, the Scots all-time leading points leader. Brian "Farley" Farley shot a stellar 65 in his defeat of Neilson "Null" Rutherford. John "Atco" Atkins avenged two draws in past years with Kevin "The Riddler" Riddle by defeating him outright at Kilspindie. Scottish Captain Graeme "H" Wilson secured a point for Scotland with a gutsy victory over "Medium" Mike Coakley. Ronald "Wee Ronnie" Denholm battled Eric "Swayze" Silagy for 18 holes before ending the match in a gentleman's draw. And with a large crowd watching, Chris "Cudman" Van Horne drove the green at the last to secure a draw with Ross "Rosco" MacCallum.

Quaich Hand-Off at Sequoia in Georgetown, D.C.

October 4, 2009
T-Bone escorts the Quaich from Colorado to D.C. and hands it off to Fabric. Now we want to see Fred Barnes, Mort Kondracke and the rest of the "Fox News All Stars" drinking single malt from it in an effort to stimulate real debate. The Quaich --- fair, balanced and unafraid!

Quaich in Rehab

After a rough trip across the Atlantic last June, the damaged Quaich trophy is current under-going repairs at Object Design Studio (www.objectdesignstudio.com) in Denver. Once the rehab work is complete, the Quaich will begin it's year-long tour of the U.S. before travelling to Scotland for the 2010 Quaich Matches.
